Hjördis Oldfors (1920–2014) designed many classics for the Swedish Upsala-Ekeby company in the 1950s. One of the most well-known series is Granit (Granite) from 1959. It consists of four earthenware bowls and vases. They have geometric forms, gray glaze, and white net relief. The items are deep stamped on the lower side with UE, model number, and Hjördis’s mark (”Hj” in a circle). The series was manufactured until 1962. Which of Hjördis’ Granit objects is your favorite?
