Hjördis Oldfors (1920–2014) designed many classics for the Swedish Upsala-Ekeby company in the 1950s. One of the most well-known series is City from 1958. It consists of five earthenware bowls and vases. They have geometric forms, unglazed clay, and green or white linear relief decor. The items are deep stamped on the lower side with UE, model number, and Hjördis’s mark (”Hj” in a circle). The series was manufactured until 1961. Which of Hjördis’ City objects is your favorite?
