Hjördis Oldfors (1920–2014) designed many classics for the Swedish Upsala-Ekeby company in the 1950s. One of the most well-known series is Cadiz from 1957. It consists of eight earthenware bowls and vases. They have geometric forms, yellow glaze, and net relief pattern. The items are deep stamped on the lower side with UE, model number, and Hjördis’s mark (”Hj” in a circle). The series was manufactured until 1959. Which of Hjördis’ Cadiz objects is your favorite?
