Hjördis Oldfors (1920–2014) designed many classics for the Swedish Upsala-Ekeby company in the 1950s. One of the most well-known series is Banana from 1958. It consists of six earthenware bowls and vases. They have undulating forms, yellow glaze, and green net relief pattern. The items are deep stamped on the lower side with UE, model number, and Hjördis’s mark (”Hj” in a circle). The series was manufactured until 1959. Which of Hjördis’ Banana objects is your favorite?
