Gunvor Olin-Grönqvist (1928–2005) was one of Finland’s leading ceramic artists in the 20th century. She was part of the Nordic tradition aiming for warm-hearted and joyous design. After her art studies at the Institute of Industrial Art in Helsinki, Gunvor worked for the Arabia factory for more than 40 years. She was a prominent designer of wall plaques, figurines, and tableware with motifs from the fauna or flora. Gunvor’s artistry is represented at the numerous museums in the Nordic countries.
