An Overview of Gunnel Sahlin’s Texas Series
Gunnel Sahlin (1954–) has designed many classics for the Swedish Kosta Boda glassworks. One of the most well-known series is Texas from 1993. It consists of nine objects with a cactus theme: Sculptures, small plates, dishes, candleholders, champagne glasses, and pitchers. They were crafted by hand with rounded shapes, relief patterns, and a joyous expression. The series was in production until 1993. Which of Gunnel’s Texas objects is your favorite?
