Gunnar Nylund (1904–1997) designed many classics for the Swedish ceramic factory Rörstrand. One of the most well-known series is Caolina from 1955. It consists of seven porcelain bowls and vases. They have a streamlined form, black or white glaze, and modern expression.
The objects are marked on the lower side with Rörstrand’s symbol (R), GN, Sweden, and Caolina. The series name is derived from ”Kaolin” (Kaolinite), the clay used to make porcelain. Which Caolina object is your favorite?
