Esteri Tomula (1920–1998) designed many classics for the Finnish Arabia company in the 1940s to 1980s. One of the most well-known series is Fennica (latin for ”Finnish”) from 1953. It consists of porcelain bowls, dishes, jars, and vases. They have gently rounded forms, matte white glaze, and delicate flower decors. The items are usually stamped on the lower side with Arabia, Made in Finland, and ET. The series was manufactured until 1974. Which of Esteri’s Fennica objects is your favorite?
