Article no.: 55447

Ester Wallin (1928–2009) was one of Finland’s leading ceramic artists in the 20th century. She was part of the Nordic tradition aiming for warm-hearted, humorous, and sometimes subtly ironic design. After her studies, Ester mainly worked in her own studio but also worked short periods with ceramic factories like Upsala-Ekeby. She became a prominent designer of animal figurines with rounded shapes and kind expressions. Ester’s artistry is represented at the numerous museums in the Nordic countries.
